With the help of anchor text, you can very easily extend your hand over and above your competitors. There are two aspects how you can do this.

 Internal links represent links from a page on your site to another page on the same site. If you are linking internally, then you must have full control over that link as it is on your website. You must make the most of it through linking many times in between the text of everyone of your pages. One of the good examples is Wikipedia.

Backlink building represents building backlinks from other sites is crucial to use anchor text. Links from other sites are more trusted as in theory you cannot control links from other sites so the anchor text is from an objective source.
