Fake News Sites
We know that many internet marketers follow many unethical rules of internet marketing, which is against the search engines rules and regulations, and are considered illegal in the world of Search engine Optimization. A lot of internet marketers are using fake news sites. Fake news sites can contain many fake videos and footages of artificial made videos with the names of famous and popular broadcasting names and channels. The Federal Trade Commission or the FTC is cracking down all the fake news sites, which are creating rumors and misleading the consumers to purchase or get motivated towards the wrong products or services.
The internet marketers are designing theses kind of websites, which are very much illegitimate in terms of making a product popular on the online market. The site is designed so it would have the look and feel of an actual news site, including a navigation menu that should lead to various categories such as Business, Sports, Technology, etc. However, when any user click on each of those categories then they are inserted into some other web page and are brought to a sales page promoting the product of any local woman supposedly with some fortune games and promoting weight loss pills which actually have no uses in real life.
Many of these fake news sites include the names and logos of major media outlets like ABC, NBC, USA Today, CNN, and Consumer Reports, and falsely represent that the reports on the sites have been seen on these networks. Nevertheless, doing theses activities is an offence and if found doing can be strictly punished under cyber law.
