Nobody is left in present times that are not aware of websites but there are few people who get confused between the term website and web pages. Therefore websites are a collection of WebPages or we can say in other language that a bunch of WebPages make a website. Comparing with each other we can say that web pages are considered very small in term of a website which are very big and have more functions than a web page.

The basic differences are as follows:

A website is made of thousands or even millions of web pages whereas web pages are just a page filled up with content needed for that website. Taking the simple example of Facebook which has million of pages and talking regarding the web pages then this is a text is part of a web page, and is written in the Hypertext. In adding up to text with hyperlinks, tables, and further formatting, web pages also contain images. Normally, web pages may contain Flash animations, Java applets, or video files for respective websites.

It is also seen that in the business point of view the need of website is not always required to get customers, lets say if you are a Mc Donald’s franchisee and opened a new shop in a new location then you might not be required to make a full website; rather you can go for a single web page which will just carry your shop’s address and contact number because the Mc Donald’s have it’s own reputation and do not need a separate website for each location.
